# Hyde Park

As fast as I could, I got out of the hotel(Furama) to search what sightseeing is near around. Near Chinatown, there is a huge area named Hyde Park. 

When you enter from the Museum Station, there is an Anzac Memorial. At that time, I didn't know what it was. A few days later, I knew it was a Memorial to honour those who have served in the Great War.

After the Anzac Memorial, I was met by the bronze sculpture of Captain James Cook. Once, I heard about this man at the New Zealand package deal tour. Even there was a mountain named Cook. It would probably be the same person. 

According to Wikipedia, James Cook(1728 ~ 1779) was a British explorer. As a British man, He first recorded European contact with the eastern coastline of Australia and even the Hawaiian islands and New Zealand.

Looking at the statue, I thought about a voyage through the great ocean. With this courage and shift to adventure, he could pioneer a new territory, even if it is on the opposite side of the earth(Of course, Australia has already been occupied by Native people called aboriginal).

Frontier, pioneer. These words just got through into my heart. From now on, I should live as a pioneer for my life.

Passing the statue of Cook, I met the Archibald Memorial Fountain surrounded by huge green trees. It gave me a cool atmosphere and refreshment. These kinds of plants and trees were not easily found in Korea.

I thought this kind of park must be built in Korea. It will give so many refreshment and course to jogging to many citizen. It could be hard power and soft power at the same time.

# Ibis Nest

On the way to the bay, there was a strange sound next to the road. It was like 'kirik.. kirik..'. I searched the origin of the sound, but it was not easy. Then, my father, who joined my journey to Australia, told me, 'Son, look up the tree.' And I realized that it was an ibis.

Exactly, ibises. There were 4 or 5 ibises at the nest on top of the palm tree. Two adults and a couple of babies. I had never seen ibis in my life. But as soon as I arrived here, in Sydney, I saw ibis sunbathing. Now, I saw the nest of ibis.

It was awkward for me to see that moment. Because there are only pigeons in Korea. And they are the symbols of dirt. But in Sydney, ibises along by the road. Daily life here was very close to real nature.

# The Harbour Bridge and The Opera House

Leaving the wild ibis behind, I just walked down the road. All of a sudden, the road disappeared, and my eyes widened as I watched the huge bay with crystal blue sky.

In the sight, there were majestic architectures. **The Harbour Bridge and The Opera House.** It is totally right to say that this is the 'Must-See in Australia'.

The Harbour Bridge overwhelmed me. I can't forget the first moment I was confronted by that architecture. It was like Huge Giant looked down at me. The picture can't take the feeling 100%.

On the right side, there is the Opera House. It looks like an orange cover cut. So many people spend their leisure time in front of the Opera House, watching the bay. The band played upbeat music. People drink coffee or juice. It's a peaceful start in Sydney.
